According to California Highway Patrol, a 23-year-old man was traveling east on California Street about 1 a.m. when he failed to yield at a stop sign at Pacific Boulevard. He subsequently lost control of his vehicle and struck the victim, who was walking on the sidewalk.

The suspect did not immediately stop, but rather continued driving down the street. He ultimately collided with a brick wall and overturned. He was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood with minor injuries, and he was later arrested on suspicion of California DUI and manslaughter.

This story highlights the deadly consequences of California DUI.

California drivers are reminded that the best way to avoid a California DUI is to designate a driver or call a taxi. However, if you find yourself arrest for driving under the influence, it is imperative to contact an experienced California DUI attorney.
