San Diego DUI and Hit and Run causes serious injuries

Jose Gaspar of Fallbrook was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol when he crossed the double yellow lines into oncoming traffic and struck Archie Barnes also of Fallbrook. Barnes was seriously injured with a broken left femur and was taken to Palomar Hospital following the accident. Gaspar could be charged with a felony DUI, felony Hit and Run and driving without a license following the incident. The California Highway Patrol reports that Gaspar fled the scene of the accident but was immediately caught. He was treated for non-serious injuries and booked in the Vista Jail. A San Diego DUI with accident can be tragic. The last thing that you ever want to do is flee the scene of an accident. Even if you had a drink or two prior to driving, it must be proven that you were the proximate cause of the accident. When serious injuries are involved you are facing a felony DUI charge. This means that you could spend time in state prison. Given the severity of the circumstances, the first call you should make is to a leading San Diego DUI Defense attorney.
